Join our Mission and Vision for Supporting People with Disabilities in Nature’s Classroom…

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of hundreds of donations since our inception in 2013. Giving to Homesteads for Hope, Inc. you can see your donation in action through our people, families, and a canvas of innovation on the Farm. Your support keeps the lights on, supports our program experience, and moves mountains for families seeking more…

Currently, our goal is to make our operations sustainable at the Farm through our programs, enterprise, and farming operations. The next step is “Paving the Way” to residential housing, 30 acres dedicated to a place to call HOME. This campus model exists all over the country but has never been done before in Western NY.

Putting your money where your heart is…

"When people ask me why I give to Homesteads for Hope, my answer is simple. I do not have loved ones with special needs, but I am blessed to know people who do, and this Farm gives everyone a safe, happy, welcoming place to be themselves. Homesteads is growing solutions to really complicated problems and that kind of compassion and innovation should be supported. Donating and being involved here is important to me and my family. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions about giving and always consult with your tax advisor on the specifics of your charitable giving and taxes."

Ways to Donate

Their are 100 reasons to give, and about 100 ways to give! See all the ways you can support Homesteads for Hope:

  • Help support adults with disabilities through their lifetime at Homesteads for Hope.

A planned gift gives you the opportunity to:

    • Provide support for yourself and your loved ones during and after your lifetime and reduce income taxes, capital gains taxes, and estate taxes.

  • One of the fastest-growing vehicles for philanthropic giving are Donor Advised Funds (DAF).

Do you have a Donor Advised Fund at a financial-services firm such as Vanguard or Schwab?

    • You can recommend gifts from that DAF to Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

  • Many people give appreciated securities as a way to both save lives and avoid capital gains taxes. To quickly and conveniently donate securities, contact your brokerage firm or financial adviser and:

    • Determine the amount of securities you’d like to donate.

    • Provide your broker with the routing information:

      • Brokerage firm: E-Trade

      • Account name: Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

      • Account number: 4516-9737

      • DTC number: 0385

  • People who are age 70 ½ or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA directly to a charity, like Homesteads for Hope, and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution.

The gift must be directly routed from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to Homesteads for Hope. This unique gift structure also allows you to satisfy the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without claiming it as income.

    How it works:

    • You must be 70½ or older at the time the gift is made.

    • Request a direct transfer of funds from your IRA plan custodian to Homesteads for Hope to qualify as a tax-free gift.

    • Provide your plan custodian with the following routing information:

      • Account Name: Homesteads for Hope, Inc.

      • Nonprofit Tax ID Number: 46-2731613

Funds held in other plans such as a 401(k) or 403(b) plan are not eligible but may be rolled over to a standard IRA and then be used for a tax-free gift to charity.

Plan custodians do not always identify the donor, so please notify Homesteads for Hope when you donate so your gift can be matched to you when it arrives.

  • Homesteads for Hope accepts various types of non-cash, in-kind donations, such as vehicles, stock, gift cards, real estate, construction services, etc.

    • Contact Jennyrae Brongo, Founder & CEO at Jenny@HomesteadsforHope.org to make arrangements for your non-cash donation.

  • Remembering Homesteads for Hope in your will is easy. You may leave a percentage or specify the dollar amount.

    • Simply advise your attorney to include an estate gift specifically to “Homesteads for Hope, Inc.” in your will.

Homesteads for Hope is proud to be an approved charity.

Vision & Hope: Supporting the Future Event

Join us for Vision & Hope, a monthly gathering where we delve into the future of Homesteads for Hope. Explore our vision and engage in in-depth discussions about the unique needs of our community. Be part of shaping the first care farm and housing model in Western NY.

Our campaign goal is to raise $3 million+ toward Capital Improvements & Capacity Infrastructure so we can create an accessible campus that offers programs year-round. This will triple our impact and allow us to be enjoyed inclusively by everyone. With your support, we can complete Phases 1 & 2 on the first 25 acres and begin planning Phase 3: developing 30 more acres into inclusive residential housing.

Complete!

The “Forever Homestead” Community Center

We call it the Forever Homestead (not because it took 7 years) but, it signifies we are here to stay forever serving our community. The project was a $1,275,000 renovation and addition to a 200-year-old historic farmhouse located on a wide waters of the Erie Canal. Its new purpose serves as our year-round Community Center, which allows us to keep programs on-site during the winter, and expand enrollments to our mission-based programs. Since November 15, 2023, it has created new innovative opportunities with multiple classrooms, gathering spaces, a teaching kitchen, and a 5 bedroom residence. This project was supported by 100’s of grants & donations.
